1951, November 3rd, Portuguese Captain Juan Fernandez de Leon founded this city called by first time as espíritu santo Del valle de guanaguanare, and nowadays its name is guanare, the capital of portuguesa state.
Museums, nature beauty, regional events like carnivals and bull’s games, and the wonderful and majestic Coromoto´s virgin temple are some of the most important attractive places in this town and this is why many people visit it because tourists want to be in a land full of peace, happiness and religious faith.
